Shiraz and Sundrops

As it goes every year, the June heat sets in and I do not enjoy kniting nearly as much as the cooler parts of year, but that is jsut fine because I have begun to create the most delightful dresses! There are two designs that I have been working on lately, the Greek style a reconstructed piece and the Grape(soon to come) and totally handmade project, both of which I am ridiculously proud of.

The Sun Drop dress is featured on both my Etsy and Burdastyle pages and is the result of one old cotton dress and a very amazing 2 yd long scarf found at a thrift store . When I wear it I feel as if I should be outside at all times, and would be perfect for the beach.

By the way...

It has been a number of years that I have enjoyed the sounds made by Karin and Olof of The Knife, yet one day a few weeks ago I stumbled upon a song from new project by the female half, called Fever Ray. So far it is somber, yet eerie... I recommend it and I want more.

Its a facial hair frenzy!

Inspired by Tom Selleck and this American Apparel hood, I have become obsessed with funky facial hair and lately I took it upon myself to create a treasury on Etsy, which can be a difficult thing to land if you don't pop up at the right time! After waiting most of a day, and collecting a veritable cornucopia of bearded items, I managed to snag a treasury spot at the right moment and ceated this Who's Stache? which I am pleased to present here:http://www.etsy.com/treasury_list.php?room_id=65101

It has been a subject of my interest for the past few months as I attempt to design a cap complete with a detachable mustache for spunk and warmth, while still having a funky aesthetic feeling. Unfortunately my treasury will not last for more than another day, yet my love for staches will only grow.

My Polka Your Dot

Quite recently I decided that I needed to create a tea dress, something perfect to wear in the late afternoons, and imagined something in a mint green color with lace trimming, yet this is what came into being instead:

Despite the fact that it is nothing as I had imagined, I could not pass up on the supersoft cotton blend and am quite glad about the change in plan. It reminds me of something I should wear while enojoying a perfect mimosa at brunch, which I intend to do soon!

Another Start

Hey there friends, this is the beginning of a new blogger relationship during which I will share my weekly adventures in kniting, sewing, reconstructing, etsy-ing, and possibly a few purls of wisdom. It will be a slow start I'm sure, yet soon I will be incorporating my etsy shop with my burdastyle account with my ravelry with my facebook, and etc. See you there!
